Therapeutic Approach

As a Counselling Psychologist in private practice, I offer individuals and couples psychotherapy and life coaching. I work collaboratively with clients using an integrative research-based approach, whereby empirically validated interventions are tailored to the person and to his or her particular presenting concern and counselling goals. These therapeutic approaches include: cognitive behavioural, narrative, depth-oriented brief, mindfulness and acceptance-based behavioural, and solution focus therapy.

For couples counselling, my work is also informed by Gottman Couples’, Emotion Focus, and Attachment theories and practices. Therapy outcome potentials include:

  • Expanded perspectives
  • Restored esteem
  • Diminished anxiety or depressive symptoms
  • Resolved conflicts
  • Strengthened relationships
  • Reduced overwhelm and reactivity
  • Increased personal agency toward desired change
